Regarding the greeting in the last email/posting and why a translation was nonsensical: Um, really, I just looked at my library card and typed up the funnest words on there.

The people [here] are great. Sometimes I don't understand what they're saying, but they have been friendly (so far). There is a young man we are teaching, and it's tricky because his Welsh accent is so strong and he speaks so quickly. It takes a miracle for us to understand him, but he's a good kid and we love teaching him.
Keep being the good people you are. Reach out to those around you. Lift up the hands that hang down. Help someone to smile. I send you all my soggy love.
